Angels, Demons, Spirits, Oh my!
By MaryLu Tyndall

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see an angel, a demon (shudder), or get a glimpse into the spirit realm that exists all around us?  After all, we are told in the Scriptures that the spirit realm is far more real than this one we currently live in. We are told that we only see through a foggy glass now, but when we pass into eternity we will see clearly. The truth is, I know many people who have seen things in the spirit realm from time to time. My husband is one of them, a pastor I know another, and several other friends. Occasionally, God will bless us with spiritual sight and grant us a glimpse into eternity. But only if you believe.
That’s one of the reasons I wrote She Walks in Power. My heroine, Alexia has the gift of discerning of spirits, and on occasion she sees beyond the veil into the real world wherein lives spiritual beings of both good and evil, along with such beauty we cannot even imagine. This is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that is still in operation today, but sadly, very few preachers teach anything about it or any of the other gifts.

Almost everything that Alexia sees in the book has been taken from experiences of people I trust. My
hope is that it will give people a glimpse into the spirit realm they wouldn’t otherwise have, as well as show them how to use this amazing gift from God. I also hope it will open people’s minds to start thinking in terms of eternity. We are all just passing through this world. If we’re lucky we may have 80 or 90 years, after which we spend our eternity in one of two places. If we know Jesus, heaven. If we reject Him, hell. Sorry to be so blunt, but that’s the truth of it.
Because our true home is in the eternal realm, we should be excited about it, yearn to get a glimpse of it, and of course learn how to do battle against the evil beings who live there in order to advance the Kingdom of God. This is what Alexia must do when she encounters an evil force intent on destroying her. She must learn to do spiritual battle, which only happens in the spirit realm.

I hope you’ll pick up She Walks in Power and travel alongside Alexia as she peers behind the veil and battles her enemies. Of course there’s also loads of adventure, suspense, and of course, romance with a very hunky knight!

Alexia D'Clere didn't ask to be Protector of the Spear, but after her dying mother gave her the tiny metal object and made her promise to keep it safe, she had no choice. Orphaned at age eight, she began to take over the running of her parent's castle with the help of a trusted steward. Yet, when a plot to murder her was revealed, a friar whisked her away to live hidden in the forest. There, she learned to shoot expertly with bow and arrow and hone her skills to see into the spirit realm.

Now, at eighteen, Alexia continues to keep the Spear protected, provide meat for the starving village, while secretly caring for her ill sister who still lives in the castle. With Alexia's powers of spiritual discernment and her skill as an archer, she is no match for those who come for the spear. That is until she meets Ronar LePeine, one of the King's elite guard.

Ronar desires nothing more than to do his duty to God and King and pay penance for past sins. Yet a forest sprite with red, flaming hair blocks his every move, all the while enchanting him like no other. Something evil lurks at Castle Luxley, and both Ronar and Alexia are soon thrust into the middle of a spiritual battle which will not only test their very beliefs, but put them both in mortal danger.

  9. I have enjoyed all of MaryLu's books that I have read so far, and I look forward to her newest. I have never had an experience with the spirit realm like what MaryLu mentions nor do I know anyone who has, but I think it an interesting idea.

  10. Hi Ladies! I'm sorry I'm so late in responding. I've had the flu and been a bit dizzy. LOL Thank you for your kind comments and interest! This was a fun book to write and I hope you get a chance to enjoy it. I don't feel like it's spooky at all. We are told a thousand times in Scripture NOT TO FEAR. It's one of my all time struggles. But evil spirits are actually terrified of those in whom the Holy Spirit dwells. A mere mention of the name of Jesus sends them scattering. It was fun to travel alongside Alexia as she discovered how much God loves her and the power He has given to all who believe. God Bless you all!

  11. Hi Debbie, count me in too!( I guess I'm eligible for an ebook since I'm from overseas). I know Marylu and her heart in writing this book, so I can assure you all that this will be a reading experience to remember! I so want to be able to read this myself.:) The spirit realm is very much real and we all would do well to pay much more attention to the spiritual warfare that we are in the middle of.This is ain't fairytale.:)

  12. Sounds very interesting. I think seeing spirits around us would be a little surprising or shocking.
