2 Giveaways from Darlene Franklin ends 12/21

Please welcome Darlene Franklin to my blog this week. Darlene is doing two giveaways, The COMPLETE Christmas Collection and her devotional so be sure to come back on Wednesday and Friday and leave a comment for a better chance to win!

This week I’m offering two very different books for giveaway: a devotional and a historical romantic novella. What do they have in common, and what do they have to do with Christmas?
Let’s start with the two obvious ones: they’re both about Christmas and they’re both works of Christian writing.

An Advent Journey through Christmas is a daily devotional book beginning with the first Sunday of Advent through Christmas Day.  It begins with Jesus’ miraculous birth in Matthew 1-2 and leads the reader through the story which adds layers of understanding of His extraordinary life and resurrection. Reflection questions help the reader relate each devotional to the season.

Jacob’s Christmas Dream (from Christmas Mail Order Angels) involves another journey: a move from Maine to Wyoming for a mail order bride to marry the store owner in a 1870s gold mining town; a move from rejection of God’ call to acceptance it.
Christmas, at its heart, is about one thing: Immanuel, God with us, God’s ultimate gift of love. What better way to retell that story than through romance?
Return later this week to read one of the devotionals and again the prologue to Jacob’s Christmas Dream.
What are ways you have experienced God’s love and/or shown it to others at Christmastime?
