  2. We have a Weimaraner who is almost 6. She's a big baby. All 90 pounds of her. Our cat, is a huge, fluffy and gray. He's quite lazy but loves our young children. Our neighbors' dog stays with us during the day while his mommy and daddy go to work. He's silly. What would we do without our furry friends.

  6. I have no kids, but I do have a cat. Spooky is black (as you might guess from the name) and she is not exactly a lap cat, but loves to be petted or brushed.

  7. I have one cat, Lizzie. She is a tortoise shell calico. I found her a few months after I had to put down my 17-year-old cat. They have very similar markings, so I couldn't resist.
I love the picture of your granddaughter.

Piper my filly. She was orphaned at three days old, and with A LOT of prayer and heavenly help she was bottle raised and is thriving!

    1. Thanks for sharing Amada. I know the kind of work that goes into orphans. I raise shelties and have spent many a night getting up every hour to two feeding a weak puppy. But it's oh so worth it when they survive!

    2. Yes it is so worth it! :) We raise Meat Goats also and when you're up at two in the morning feeding and coaxing it's amazing to see the love in their sweet little faces! Yup it's worth it!

  12. Your photos of your granddaughter brought back memories of when I made a poodle skirt for my young daughter. I think she was about 4 years old and needed it for a VBS program or something at church. That was about 20 years ago. I don't very often sew for her now (though I did make some comfy pajama pants for her a couple of years ago that she really likes). It sounds like you have a great lineup of authors for this year. Thanks also for having the giveaway.

    1. Thanks for coming by. I made my daughter a poodle skirt too! But she wore it to school because she loved it! LOL> I don't do nearly the sewing I used to but I still do some. Mostly smocking and sewing the outfits I smock. But I am working on a 19th century dress right now. Oh my goodness! What a job! LOL.

  13. Hi Debbie! You granddaughter is adorable and I love her outfit! Your horse and sheltie are beautiful too! I'm single, 30ish, never been married, and have no children. What I do have is a beautiful chihuahua named Encore - she was died right after being born but was revived, therefore making an encore performance! She literally saved my life 7 yrs ago and she is my world!

    1. I'd love to hear how she saved your life! Animals are so wonderful. I have actually revived puppies too! Such a wonderful feeling when you see them thrive.

    2. I was strung out on meth for 7 yrs and my mom told me if I went to rehab she'd take care of Encore, if not she and I would have to go live in my car or wherever I could find to stay. It's one thing to doom myself to but make my dog suffer along with me is another. Plus, it was the middle of August here in Oklahoma -which meant 100°+ that year. So I went to rehab to save her life thus she helped save mine! (I went to a Christian rehab so I was literally saved!)

    3. Kam, that is so amazing! Isn't God great? He used Encore to save you both physically and spiritually! He used your love for your dog and your concern for him to bring you to saving grace. I'm so proud of you! I've heard meth is a very hard thing to kick. I hope your story will be an inspiration to others. God bless you and good luck!!

  14. I'm without pets right now, but I remember one particular budgie growing up. Every time my Mother would walk past his cage she would say "Who's a pretty boy?" Before long if you went near him he would say "Who's a pretty boy?"
He was a pretty boy too. Apparently if you get the birds young they can learn to talk.

I have two dogs, a chiweenie and a shitzu mix who are both eight years old. I am single and have no children so for me right now the dogs are like my kids, they are both very spoiled :)

  16. Hey Katie! Thank you! I think she's adorable, too. She's sitting beside me now trying to play with my computer as I type. LOL> A chiweenie! I bet that is a cute dog. I had a shitzu when we first got married and had no kids and that dog was spoiled terrible so I understand about spoiling our furry friends.

  18. I have an adorable miniature white American Eskimo puppy - her name is Zoi. She is quite active (hyper) when you come home or she gets to come in from the cold for a little bit - it takes much to get her calmed down and she needs constant attention. We love her a lot! She hates the UPS and Fed-Ex drivers and lets them know when they come here - I think she hates their big vehicles. She has very thick hair and loves being outdoors. In the summer we have to get her hair almost shaved so that she can stand the hot summers we have. Thank you for offering great Christian books - love Christian fiction!

    Blessings to you,

  19. First of all, the outfit you made your granddaughter is precious! She looks so cute in it. About our sweet pet. We used to have three animals, two cats and a dog. However, one of the cats and the dog passed away within the past two years. We still have one cat and she is wonderful. She is 16 years old, black and so funny. She has a very loud meow in her old age and we think she may be hard of hearing now. She is extremely lovable and always wants to be with one of the family. She is extremely attached to our oldest daughter (13) and usually hangs out with her a lot. She is what is called a polydactyl. She has extra toes on both front feet, which makes her look like she is wearing mittens. Thank you for the great chance to win one of these books! (My husband, btw, grew up in a house with many Shelties over the years and his family even fostered many dogs, I have always thought they were such beautiful dogs and the picture you have above is really good.)

  22. Hello Debbie. My lo0ves are many. You see my 12 grandkids are all grown-up, the last being 23. But, I have many, 19 greats who I adore, just don't get to see as often as I would love to. You know they grow up so fast. The last 3 turned 1 year old the last half of last year. All 3 born in a 6 mo. period. I have 10 boys and 9 girls. About even. These from 6 children. My greatest joys. I did have a Chihuahua, Tinkerbelle who died a number of years ago. She was 16 and special. Have decided not to get another pet at my age. I would love to win one of these books. Thanks!
